Ukrainian defenders destroyed part of the S-300 air defense systems that the Russian army used to strike at Nikolaev due to a shortage of other missiles.
Vitaliy Kim, head of the local OVA, spoke about this at a briefing at the Ukrainian Media Center.
"They have been shelling us every day for the fifth week already. A battery or S-300 division was destroyed. And we know where these S-300s are, which they brought up, and now they are shelling Nikolaev. We are working on this, the Armed Forces are moving forward," he said. .
Kim expects that the Ukrainian military will be able to get to the new installations that are shelling Nikolaev in the next week or two.
“We can do little with aircraft that use air-to-ground missiles, except for air defense. I can’t say anything about this. As for ground-based installations, I think a week or two - and there will also be results,” summed up head of the OVA.
