Germany will provide Ukraine with 16 Biber bridge-laying tanks

Germany will transfer 16 Biber tank bridge layers to Ukraine.
This was reported by the German Ministry of Defense on Twitter.
"In order to further support the ground forces of Ukraine, German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht has decided to supply a batch of 16 Biber armored bridge layers. They can be used to overcome water or other obstacles in combat," the report says.
The Bundeswehr website reports that the Biber bridge layers are built on the chassis of the German Leopard 1 tanks. The total length is 22 meters, and the weight is 45.3 tons. The tank is designed for two crew members - commander and driver.
They are used when troops need to quickly cross ditches and bodies of water, which can be up to 20 meters wide. The four-meter-wide bridge allows the transport of heavy vehicles with a payload class of MLC 50.
