The Turkish government has handed over 50 used armored vehicles with mine protection to the Ukrainian military.
According to Defense News, citing Turkish government and industry sources, the supply of Kirpi vehicles was the result of a government agreement, and not an agreement between Ukraine and BMC, which manufactures Kirpi.
"According to the agreement, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense delivered an initial batch of 50 Kirpi to Ukraine. There will be further deliveries," a source in the government said.
A BMC representative confirmed the delivery and the structure of the contract.
"This agreement in no way concerns our company. The Ankara government supplied a batch of Kirpi, which were in its military custody," said a BMC spokesman.
