“On Wednesday, we sent our next, 50th humanitarian convoy to Ukraine. This time it consisted of three cars - SUVs and minibuses, purchased for the Ukrainian army and painted in khaki color. I would like to thank Ukrainian TV journalist Dmitry Komarov and businessman Sergey Yemtsov for financial assistance for the formation of this aid party,” said the head of the Veche Ukrainian-Latvian Friendship Society, Valeriy Oleniychuk.
He also noted that patriotic drawings of the children of the Riga Secondary Ukrainian School were sent to the Ukrainian military on the same flight. “My brother Vitaliy Oleniychuk, head of the Pobeda-17 volunteer organization, said that our convoy had already crossed the border of Ukraine and was heading to Kharkov, from where the vehicles would be sent to the front. "Pobeda-17" is engaged in registration and escort of the convoy," the activist said.
Also, the Latvian volunteer organization Agendum sent its next convoy to Ukraine at the end of last week. “It's nice that this time, among the 11 Agendum's cars, there was also our Ford minibus, purchased with funds that have been collected since spring in different parishes throughout Latvia. It was very touching – a real national gathering,” said Gabriela Kabicina-Kabier, a volunteer from the Latvian branch of the Catholic charity Caritas.
