Russian troops on Sunday morning attacked Zaporozhye and the surrounding area.
Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhia OVA, announced this on Telegram.
"The enemy attacked the regional center and the immediate surroundings. Data on the victims and destruction are being specified," he wrote.
Citizens were urged to observe security measures and not to neglect air raid signals. There is a risk of repeated attacks.
At the same time, Anatoly Kurtev, secretary of the Zaporozhye City Council, noted in his Telegram channel that there is destruction of the infrastructure of one of the districts of the city and suburbs.
"Relevant services are working on the ground," he added.
UPDATED 8:40. Russian invaders hit Zaporozhye and the suburbs with four S-300 missiles.
"According to preliminary information, the enemy hit the regional center and the suburbs with four S-300 missiles. As a result of the attack, the industrial infrastructure was destroyed," the head of the Regional Military Administration said.
Starukh noted that there were no casualties as a result of the shelling.
"The invaders are suffering losses at the front, the only thing they can answer is to destroy civilian objects," the head of the UVA wrote, adding that "the enemy is doomed."
