"As of 08:45, 8 people were killed and 24 injured as a result of the shelling in the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire broke out in six cars and more than 15 cars were damaged. 30 people and 6 pieces of equipment of the State Emergency Service were involved. The information is being specified," he wrote.
According to the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko, Russian missiles hit objects in the city center (in the Shevchenkovsky district) and in the Solomensky district.
The central streets of the capital were blocked by law enforcement officers, rescue services are working.
"Several hits on the critical infrastructure of the city. There are victims. All local services are working," Klitschko added.
