The United States will send ammunition and Humvee military trucks to Ukraine as part of a new $725 million aid package.

It is reported by Reuters with reference to officials.

The Biden administration's next security assistance package for Ukraine is expected to include ammunition and vehicles.

However, it will not include something that would give Ukraine significant new capabilities, or air defense, two US officials told the publication.

Officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, also said that the timing of the announcement of the package, as well as its contents and cost, are subject to change.

One of them said that while the aid package should not be expected to contain materials to repel missile attacks, it was designed to strengthen Ukraine's ability to repel a Russian counteroffensive.

Ammunition and equipment will be sent using the Presidential Arms Reduction Decision (PDA). This will allow delivering everything to Ukraine in the coming days after the announcement.

Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the United States has already allocated more than $16 billion. With the new package, the total amount of assistance will reach 17.5 billion.
