Lithuania will transfer ammunition for 155 mm artillery to Ukraine, and a contract with manufacturers of winter clothing for the Ukrainian military will be completed within a month.
According to Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas, Lithuania's support to Ukraine and its citizens is currently estimated at more than 640 million euros. At the same time, 36% of this amount or 232 million euros go to support the military.
"As for the nearest military support, it has already been decided - ammunition for the 155-mm artillery, which is desperately needed at the front, will be transferred. The Defense Resources Agency of the Ministry of Defense has signed contracts with manufacturers to restore these stocks. There will be more support, but we cannot announce everything," the Lithuanian minister.
According to him, a contract with manufacturers of winter clothing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be fulfilled within a month. The Minister of Defense of Lithuania also announced the signing of contracts for 2023 with Lithuanian companies that are engaged in the production of military equipment necessary for Ukraine.
"Lithuania will also contribute to the international fund for financing heavy armored vehicles, their production or modernization and acquisition. So, if anything, there will be tanks transferred to Ukrainians at our expense," Anusauskas added.
The Minister also noted that Lithuania would expand military training courses for Ukrainian fighters to 1,500 people.
