Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation for 2023, the company will provide Ukraine with $75 million in support.
As Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov said, at the beginning of a full-scale war, AWS was one of the first to help keep the country's digital infrastructure.
"The company provided services worth millions of dollars to store about 100 state registries. This allowed the registries to work even during Russian shelling and power outages, and for Ukrainians to receive public services online," Fedorov said.
According to him, Mintsifra continues cooperation with Amazon in the field of cloud technologies. Diya has kept a copy of the application's back-end system in AWS since the early days of the full-blown intrusion and backs it up daily.
"This makes Diya and the digital state as a whole more resilient, because the cloud infrastructure cannot be destroyed by a missile," the minister said.
The company also helps to train thousands of Ukrainians in IT specialties. Within a month, more than 11,000 Ukrainians have already joined the program, and they will soon be able to become IT specialists.
