The District Administrative Court of Kyiv canceled the order of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy on the inclusion of the "Flowers of Ukraine" building in the register of cultural heritage monuments.
According to the ICIP, the ministry will file an appeal against the decision of the OASK, and as of now, "Flowers of Ukraine" remains a cultural monument and has a protected status,
"The case was considered according to the rules of simplified proceedings without notifying the participants in the case. In accordance with the norms of the law, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy is waiting for a court decision in order to file an appeal," the report says.
The department notes that "Flowers of Ukraine" is a unique monument of cultural heritage in the style of late modernism, which has an impact on the development of the cultural environment of Kyiv.
"As of today, "Flowers of Ukraine" remains a cultural monument and has a protected status. We emphasize that the ICIP order was issued lawfully and in compliance with the norms of the law" On the Protection of Cultural Heritage" in accordance with the powers of the ICIP.
