United States President Joe Biden said that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing more than $375 million for Ukraine.
Biden said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington on December 21, 2022, which was broadcast by the White House on Youtube. The money will go to humanitarian aid.
"Today, USAID is committed to providing more than $375 million in urgently needed humanitarian assistance to Ukraine," Biden said.
He added that this assistance will provide food and cash assistance for more than 1.5 million Ukrainians, as well as create access to medical care, safe drinking water and help keep more than 2.5 million Ukrainians warm in the winter.
The US President noted that the United States and allies and partners around the world have delivered to Ukraine "at historic speed" a variety of assistance on a wide range of issues that has been critical to building Ukraine's success.
