Ukrainian forces have achieved great success in the direction of Svatovo-Kremennaya Luhansk region.
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), numerous Russian sources reported successful attacks by Ukrainian soldiers in the Svatovo-Kremennaya sector.
One of the Russian military bloggers claimed that Ukrainian forces had captured a Russian stronghold near Chervonopopovka, about 5km northwest of Kremennaya. Ukrainian forces have probably been advancing in this sector since at least 23 December.
At the same time, the Russians claimed that Ukrainian forces were regrouping and moving reinforcements from the Kharkiv region to resume offensive operations on the Kremennaya-Svatovo line.
"Ukrainian forces have likely achieved greater success in northeastern Ukraine than previously estimated by ISW. The head of the Kharkiv regional administration, Oleg Sinegubov, said on December 27 that Russian troops occupy 1.6% of the territory of the Kharkiv region," analysts said.
Ukrainian soldiers probably liberated Dvukhrichnaya, Novomlinsk and Tavilzhanka in the north-east of the Kharkiv region and Kolomiychikha in the Luhansk region, given that both Russian and Ukrainian sources reported that these settlements were shelled by Russia on December 27.
