During another massive shelling by the Russian Federation, which occurred on December 31, 2022, one of the Russian missiles hit the campus of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The blast damaged the modernist complex of biology and biology departments and destroyed the 1986 stained glass windows.

"The author of the stained glass windows is an outstanding Ukrainian artist Larisa Mishchenko. And we can lose them forever. In the midst of the mess with the removal of rubble, stained glass windows that need to be restored could be thrown into a landfill, as is often the case with us. Realizing this danger, I rushed to KNU and met with the deans of both faculties. We agreed on cooperation and decided to restore the unique object of the Ukrainian artistic heritage. I separately noted the need for restoration, and not the creation of a new work - the deans agreed. There are 3 left, on Facebook ”the photographer, writer, tour guide and author of the Ukrainian Modernism project Dmitry Solovyov.

It is noted that the stained-glass windows sing of the sections of biology. Plots for them were proposed by teachers and associate professors of all departments.

"My colleagues and I are already gathering a council of restorers and stained glass artists. If you know such people, contact us. The Russian Federation wants us to have no inheritance, but it's impossible!" Solovyov emphasized.
