The new U.S. military aid package for Ukraine will for the first time include radar-guided Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles that can be launched from sea or land to intercept aircraft or cruise missiles. This was reported by Politico, citing a source.
Two people familiar with the situation said that the Ukrainian military was able to adapt the existing Buk launchers to launch the Sea Sparrow.
Up to this point, Taiwan has been the only country to have used a land-based version of the missiles, while the US Navy and several allies use a ship-based version.
