As a result of the shelling of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, on January 6, two people were killed and 13 civilians were injured. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, pre-trial investigations have been launched in criminal proceedings on violations of the laws and customs of war (part 1, part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on January 6, the occupation troops of the Russian Federation carried out regular artillery shelling of Bakhmut and the Bakhmut region.
"As a result of powerful mortar attacks on residential areas, a 66-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were killed. Another 13 people received mine-explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds," the report says.
It is noted that private households, apartment buildings and other objects were also damaged and destroyed.
