Downing Street confirmed for the first time that the British government plans to transfer Challenger 2 battle tanks to Ukraine to defend against a Russian invasion.According to the Financial Times, a government spokesman announced that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has asked Defense Secretary Ben Wallace to "work with partners" in the coming weeks to move further and faster with our support for Ukraine, including the transfer of tanks."According to the FT, if the agreement is signed, the UK will become the first Western country to provide Ukraine with modern heavy battle tanks.
