Canada has already purchased a NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system and ammunition for it from the United States. Delivery is expected "as soon as possible". This was stated by Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand in an interview with CBC.
The strong partnership between the US and Canada enabled the purchase, which was announced last week, to be completed quickly, she said. Due to this, the delivery of this air defense system to Ukraine should take place "as soon as possible."
No tentative dates are given, but Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Yulia Kovaliv also speaks of extremely short terms.
"We're all working together and we hope this will happen as soon as it's physically possible. We have assurances that the government of Canada, on our part, and on the part of the United States, will make every effort to deliver it as quickly as possible. As far as possible ", Kovaliv said.
The head of the Canadian Ministry of Defense added that additional deliveries are possible in the future.
