The Russian MiG-31K, the carrier of the Kinzhal missiles, caught fire in the sky over Belarus, writes Belaruski Gayun.
Residents of the Molodechno district of the Minsk region at 12:00 local time heard a strong explosion in the sky. Many wrote that windows in houses shook from him.
In fact, the volunteers note with reference to their data, it was the sound of an engine surging after a fire.
“As a result, the MiG-31K of the Russian Aerospace Forces (RF-95194) was forced to urgently end the flight and return to the Machulishchi airfield,” says Belaruski Gayun.
As the volunteers emphasize, the engine fire occurred in the MiG-31K, which was on fire on December 25 while trying to take off from the airfield in Machulishchi.
