The UN has confirmed the deaths of more than 8,000 Ukrainians since the start of the full-scale war. More than 13 thousand people were injured.

This is reported in a new report by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Among the dead, at least 487 children, another 954 were injured.

The organization emphasizes that the real number of victims is much higher. It is impossible to obtain accurate data, since there is no access to places where intense hostilities continue or Russian occupiers are located.

"Many reports of civilian casualties are still awaiting confirmation in other occupied areas of Ukraine, in particular in cities such as Mariupol (Donetsk region), Lysychansk, Popasnaya and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region)", the UN noted.

Most of the deaths and injuries were caused by large-scale explosive weapons, including heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket attacks, as well as rocket and air strikes.

In addition, the organization recorded 707 attacks by Russians on medical facilities in Ukraine over the past year.

As you know, the shelling of civilian infrastructure is a gross violation of international law.
