Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled about 90 attacks by Russian invaders in five directions.
Russia is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Shakhtyorsky directions. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning report on February 23.
At the same time, Russian troops launched 10 missile and 19 air strikes, and carried out 37 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems. "Peaceful towns and villages and civilians suffered again. The threat of Russian missile strikes remains high throughout Ukraine," the report says.
On the Volynsky, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were found there. The invaders fired mortars and artillery at seven settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, as well as 18 districts of settlements in the Kharkiv region.
"In the Kupyansky and Limansky directions, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations near the settlements of Stelmakhovka, Kremennaya, Belogorovka, Fedorovka," the General Staff said and added that the enemy carried out artillery shelling in areas of five settlements in the Kharkiv region, six in Luhansk and two in Donetsk .
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Dubovo-Vasilyevka, Berkhovka, Yadnoye, Maloilinovka and Bakhmut.
"Actively conducts aerial reconnaissance to correct artillery fire. More than 20 settlements were shelled," the report says.
On the Avdeevka and Miners directions, the enemy was advancing near Novobakhmutovka, Avdeevka, Vodyanoye, Nevelskoye, Maryinka, Pobeda, Ugledar and Prechistovka.
"In total, over the past day, the invaders carried out 43 unsuccessful attacks near the mentioned settlements. Artillery shelling of 22 districts of settlements was recorded," the General Staff noted.
In the Zaporozhye direction, areas of four settlements in the Donetsk region, five in Zaporozhye and two in the Dnipropetrovsk region were hit by fire.
"In the Kherson direction, the city of Kherson, as well as, in particular, Tyaginka, Novotyaginka, Antonovka, Zelenovka and Chernobaevka, suffered from the artillery fire of the Russian occupation troops," the report says.
