Ukraine received a batch of temporary bridges from Sweden. The structures have already arrived in Ukraine. They are quickly unloaded to be sent to the required location.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, in addition to Sweden, the structures for the construction of temporary crossings have already been transferred to Ukraine by the Czech Republic, France and Norway.
"The Kingdom of Sweden has handed over to the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Agency 4 boats that can be used as pontoon crossings. 14 pontoon sections have also been handed over, which can be combined into crossings of different lengths," the report says.
"In the context of Russian aggression, temporary bridges are a quick and effective way to restore transport links between the liberated regions and the rest of the country," the ministry said.
The Ministry of Infrastructure reports that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, 153 bridges and overpasses have been destroyed on the state roads of Ukraine. Thanks to the work of road builders and international support, 80 temporary crossings have been restored.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Kingdom of Sweden has systematically supported Ukraine. The cost of only humanitarian and civil assistance since February 2022 is 379 million euros. Among the strategically important are funds for establishing transport links in the de-occupied territories," the ministry added.
