Germany provided the Ukrainian military with new assistance: what was handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Germany has provided the Ukrainian military with nine Biber armored bridge layers.

This was reported on Facebook by the German Embassy in Ukraine. "Germany provides all-round support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Biber armored bridge layer (translated from German as a beaver) is an engineering combat vehicle with which combat units overcome rivers, anti-tank ditches and other obstacles. Nine such vehicles have already been handed over to the Ukrainian military" , the message says.

At the same time, it is noted that Biber can deploy and collapse a 22-meter bridge, which consists of two eleven-meter elements, in a matter of minutes. It is also said that the Biber is based on the chassis of the Leopard 1 tank, and instead of a turret, it is equipped with a bridge construction system.

"Feature: unlike many similar engineering vehicles, the bridge is laid horizontally, leaving the contours of the vehicle small and invisible to the enemy. Thanks to modern technology, only two crew members can serve this vehicle," the embassy added.
