The Russian invaders fired and launched air strikes on the Kherson region, one person died, seven were wounded.
Civil infrastructure facilities, including residential buildings, were damaged, the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reports. According to the investigation, today, on May 2, Russian troops shelled the city of Kherson and several villages in the Belozersky community of the region.
"Preliminarily, seven civilians of the region were injured. The number of victims is being specified," the statement said. At the same time, it is noted that the invaders shelled the civilian population and launched air strikes - civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, in particular, residential buildings, utility rooms and vehicles.
Later, the prosecutor's office reported that as a result of an enemy strike, three residents of the region were killed and five more were injured.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kherson and Oleshkiv District Prosecutor's Offices, a pre-trial investigation was launched into criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Alexander Prokudin, said that the Russians fired at the villages of Kizomys and Veletenskoye in the Belozersk community.
"It is known that one person died due to the shelling of Veletensky - this is a 28-year-old man. Four more people were injured, they were hospitalized in Kherson, where doctors provide the necessary medical care," he said.
