In the war zone in Ukraine, they noticed a Russian T-55, hung with "double protection" - springs from under the beds. Probably, the "protection" was supposed to protect the tank from damage in the event of the APU dropping shells.
As OSINT researcher Alexander Kovalenko noted, this tank lacks the Kontakt-1 dynamic protection for two reasons.
"This could be done either from a practical standpoint, because the extra load on the T-54/55 makes it less mobile and more vulnerable, and also increases the accident rate of nodes, in the absence of a real increase in the tank's survival. Or ... the lack of dynamic protection among the invaders ", - wrote Kovalenko.
However, the expert himself has little faith in the second option. "Nevertheless, the occupiers should not have any problems with" Contact-1 "... Apparently, they were able to draw conclusions from the mediocre modernization of the T-62M. Indeed, the Russians can't be so bad that they don't even have enough" Contact- 1"... Really?" - asked Kovalenko.
Meanwhile, the terrorist Igor Girkin ironically called this instance "a new miracle of Russian military technology": "Modernized with two spring beds." The speed is Mach 26 in dense layers of the atmosphere, it is practically invisible to radars and does not break through any types of artillery weapons of the period before the First World War," the militant trolled.
Next in line, he added sharply, is the T-34-85 shown at the parade on Red Square.
