From now on, MIUI marks the messaging platform Telegram as a dangerous app in China.

After Telegram is identified by the system, users see a warning stating that the application has not passed Xiaomi's security check. Among the arguments for banning a "fraudulent" application are the risks of fraudulent transactions or unjustified costs.

MIUI is an Android-based operating system that Xiaomi uses on its smartphones and mobile devices.

After the release of MIUI 13 last year, the company added a new security feature to flag and block malicious apps from running on devices. If the application is considered dangerous, the system tries to remove it from the smartphone or block its installation on the device.

Earlier, this feature of MIUI raised suspicions and criticism, as users suggested that in this way Xiaomi was working with the Chinese Communist Party to track user activities and censor applications.

It is noted that the Chinese authorities have previously imposed restrictions or outright bans on such global platforms as Facebook, Twitter (X), WhatsApp and Google.
