German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock, during a visit to Kyiv, signed a Ukrainian-German memorandum on the construction of a wind power plant in the area of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.

“Green electricity from Chernobyl is the future version of the world,” tagesschau quotes the German Foreign Minister during the signing of the document at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.

As you know, Burbock is the co-chairman of the Union 90/Greens party. She is convinced that Ukraine should make greater use of renewable energy sources.

During her visit, the German minister visited a large power plant 50 km from the Ukrainian capital, which has been repeatedly attacked by missiles and drones from the Russian Federation. This power plant was severely damaged over the winter, but has now been fully restored and is surrounded by high barriers to protect against UAVs.
