Ukrainian Armed Forces tanks broke through the main line of defense in Zaporozhye, - ISW

Ukrainian tanks and other armored vehicles are already operating south of the last line of the occupiers’ main defensive line, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently breaking through in the Zaporozhye region.
ISW analysts report this with reference to geolocated footage from September 21. As noted, they show that the armored vehicles of the Defense Forces have advanced south of the enemy’s anti-tank ditches and the so-called “dragon’s teeth”, which are part of a three-level defense. The Ukrainian Armed Forces entered into a limited battle west of Verbnoye, which is 18 km southeast of Orekhov.
According to experts, this is the first recorded case of the use of armored vehicles of Ukrainian troops outside the three-level line of defense of the invaders. This indicates that the Ukrainians have broken through the first two lines of this echelon sufficiently to allow vehicles through the gap.
Analysts suggest that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have suppressed Russian artillery and other anti-tank systems in the area enough to push their equipment forward. The ability of the Ukrainian military to deliver armored vehicles to the strongest Russian defense line, as well as to use them near prepared enemy defensive positions, is an important sign of progress in this counteroffensive.
