Recently, the Russian occupiers have slowed down the pace of offensive operations on the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line.
As noted in a report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian soldiers continued offensive operations near Bakhmut and in the western Zaporozhye region on September 28.
At the same time, the pace of Russian local offensives on the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line decreased. Russian and Ukrainian officials are increasingly claiming fewer Russian ground attacks in the Kupyansky and Limansky directions. This indicates that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is diverting Russian forces from the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line and significantly weakening Russian offensive efforts along this line.
Analysts remind ISW that Russian offensive operations on this line were aimed at pinning Ukrainian troops to this line and diverting them from more important sectors of the front.
At the same time, in the Kharkov, Lugansk and Kherson regions, Russian aviation is becoming more and more active and, obviously, less active in the areas of the western part of the Zaporozhye region, where Ukrainian troops are conducting counter-offensive operations. Over the past week, Russian troops have increasingly carried out airstrikes against targets on the western (right) bank of the Kherson region and along rear Ukrainian land lines of communication in the Kupyansk direction.
