In Russia, the production process of X-59 missiles of various modifications was disrupted due to the attack on Smolensk, which was reported by Russian media on October 1.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine confirmed that on that day drones attacked a local aircraft factory - 3 out of 4 UAVs hit the target.
“On October 1, 2023, as a result of a strike on the Smolensk Aviation Plant, the production process of X-59 missiles of various modifications was disrupted,” the statement says.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, as a result of the attack, the production facilities of the Smolensk Aviation Plant received significant damage.
They recalled that the Kh-59 missile is a Russian air-to-ground warhead that is capable of covering a distance of 280 km. It is with this weapon that the Russian army most often fires at military and civilian targets in Ukraine.
The occupier most terrorized the Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with X-59 missiles during air attacks, the GUR indicated.
