Training in the grave: the Main Intelligence Directorate spoke about the “roasting” of soldiers before special operations

Soldiers of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine undergo not only physical but also psychological training before participating in special operations.

The commander of the special forces group "Artan" of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who has the call sign "Saba", told BBC News Ukraine that in his unit all soldiers go through a procedure called "Funeral of a Warrior" - this is an ancient rite necessary in order to be freed from fear of death. The commander is the first to undergo grave training.

“Saba” revealed how this ritual takes place. “The fighter digs a meter-deep grave for himself. Then he writes on a piece of paper everything that he considers unnecessary in life and is ready to get rid of. He burns the paper. Then he lies down in a hole - and they bury him in it. For breathing through the mouth, they give a diving mask with a snorkel. In this The special forces soldier lies in the “training grave” for 40 minutes to four hours,” journalists learned.

The commander of the special forces group added that underground a person loses control over his body, and it becomes clear how much he is able to control his thoughts and feelings.

"...Our work requires complete self-control and trust in your brothers-in-arms, who must dig you out. You are completely dependent on others... We bury ourselves alive in the ground to accept death. After that, we go on a special mission. Having accepted that you can die , you can calmly and effectively do your job,” he noted, adding that each commander can decide for himself whether his subordinates should undergo grave training.
