Viktor Yushchenko took part in the economic forum of communities

On October 3, the Forum of Vinnytsia Region Communities: “Economic Plan for Victory” took place in Vinnitsa. This was reported by the local publication "News of Vinnitsa". The initiators of the event were the public association “We are Vinnitsa residents” and the NGO “Center for Socio-Political Monitoring “Vector””; the media holding “News of Vinnitsa” became the information partner. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current issues of economic development at the regional level in the conditions of a full-scale war, in particular, ways to effectively use existing opportunities and resources, directions for attracting investments and grant funds, ways of interacting with socially responsible business.

At the invitation of the organizers, the third President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, took part in the forum, who noted that today the time has come for the local self-government of Ukraine to have fantastic opportunities for cooperation with international foundations, colleagues around the world and called on communities to be proactive.

Also taking part in the forum were people's deputies of Ukraine of the current and previous convocations, heads and representatives of communities of the Vinnytsia region, the non-profit sector, managers of the largest investors in the Vinnytsia region, expert economists, delegations of communities from the Kiev, Lviv and Cherkasy regions. The participants and guests of the event were congratulated by the Head of the Vinnitsa Regional Administration Sergey Borzov. Positive cases of local cooperation between communities and socially responsible businesses were presented by... O. City Mayor of Ladyzhin Alexander Kolomiets and Chairman of the Lipovets OTG Viktor Bychkov, Director of the MHP - Gromade Charitable Foundation Tatyana Volochai.

According to the leaders of public organizations that initiated the economic discussion - Valery Koroviy (NGO "We are Vinnytsia People") and Nikolai Filonov (NGO "Vector") today there are three main areas on which the efforts of the public sector need to be concentrated: maximum strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, mistemic work in the information space and economic transformation.

The organizers are also convinced that an important factor in bringing Ukraine’s victory closer should be the consolidation of communities. Today, each participant in local self-government must take an exclusively state position and generate only such scenarios that bring our victory closer.

“Therefore, we decided to organize a discussion between the authorities and experts with communities on the topic of changes in the distribution of “military” personal income tax in favor of the needs of the front and defense. We identified alternative scenarios for the development of communities during martial law: strengthening the economic bloc, attracting investors, who were also invited to our meeting. They suggested additional sources of raising funds for communities - grant programs, about which our speakers informed local communities in detail,” noted the organizers of the forum, NGO “We are Vinnytsia People” and the Center for Public Monitoring “Vector”.
