Ukrainian Farmers Sow Nearly 4.5 Million Hectares of Winter Crops

As of October 17, 2023, Ukrainian farmers have sown approximately 4.467 million hectares of winter crops, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. This includes 3.343 million hectares of winter grains, comprising 3.018 million hectares of wheat, 260,000 hectares of barley, and 63,000 hectares of rye.

During the past week, an additional 760,000 hectares of winter grains were sown, with leading agricultural regions like Volyn having already sown 97% of the projected areas.

Agricultural producers across all regions of Ukraine are nearing the completion of winter rapeseed sowing, with 1.124 million hectares already sown. In the previous week, 13,400 hectares of rapeseed were sown.
