Austrian cities have welcomed a new addition to their cultural landscape with the introduction of Ukrainian literature shelves. This initiative is part of the broader project "Ukrainian Children - Ukrainian Books," and it signifies a heartwarming collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Austrian community, and several charitable organizations.
The shelves have been set up in various locations, including the Ukrainian parish library of St. Barbara in Vienna, the Verein Matusya, a center assisting Ukrainian women with children, and the charitable organization Beregynja At. These carefully curated collections of Ukrainian books offer a glimpse into the country's rich literary traditions.
Moreover, these literary treasures have reached the Ukrainian Center in Salzburg, the Ukrainian community in Innsbruck, and the charitable organization Dia Help in Finkenberg, spreading Ukrainian culture and fostering cross-cultural exchange.
This charitable endeavor is a collaborative effort between the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine (Derzhkomteleradio), the Office of the President, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. By making Ukrainian literature more accessible in Austria, this project aims to strengthen cultural bonds and enhance the appreciation of Ukrainian literary heritage.
