At the "Ukraine Renewed: Bucharest - 2023" forum, an intergovernmental agreement was reached between Ukraine and Romania for the construction of a 261-meter bridge spanning the Tysa River, connecting the towns of Bila Tserkva in Ukraine and Sighetu Marmatiei in Romania. This bridge will link the two countries within the framework of the new border crossing point, "Bila Tserkva - Sighetu Marmatiei." According to Biletskyi, construction work has already commenced on the neighboring side, and the bridge's construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
A new international road border crossing point will be established in Zakarpattia on the border with Romania, between the Ukrainian village of Bila Tserkva and the Romanian city of Sighetu Marmatiei, separated by the Tysa River. The construction of the bridge will be funded by Romania and the EU, while the Ukrainian side will oversee road construction leading to the border crossing.
In February of this year, the "Dyakivtsi" border crossing point was inaugurated on the Ukrainian-Romanian border, and at the end of the previous year, the new "Krasnoyilsk" border crossing point also became operational.
