As part of his visit to attend the European Federation of National Language Institutions (EFNIL) conference in Slovenia, Language Ombudsman Taras Kremіn took the time to visit a primary school in Ljubljana, home to the Ukrainian Saturday School. During his visit, he engaged in a personal conversation with the school's director, B. Zhіtnik Ternovets, discussing the educational process and the multicultural environment that encourages Ukrainian students to enhance their knowledge of the Ukrainian language.
Additionally, the Language Ombudsman inspected the school's library, contributing with literary works in both fiction and educational genres. This initiative will further enrich the school's resources, benefiting the students' learning experience.
Furthermore, a meeting was held at the House of the European Union, organized by the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Society "Rukavychka," in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Slovenia and the humanitarian organization "Slovenian Philanthropy." During this event, Mr. Kremіn presented the functioning of the state program supporting the Ukrainian Saturday School and outlined the current challenges facing the Ukrainian diaspora in Slovenia.
It's worth noting that back in July, Taras Kremіn, Ukraine's Language Ombudsman, met with the Director of the World Congress of Ukrainians in Ukraine, Serhiy Kasyanchuk. The discussions revolved around mechanisms for promoting the Ukrainian language abroad in key aspects of public life, supporting Ukrainian defenders globally, and strengthening the leadership role of Ukrainians worldwide.
