Nearly one in every five Ukrainian citizens who received this aid resided in the Mazovian Voivodeship, with its center in Warsaw (242.6 thousand individuals - 21.8% of all Ukrainian citizens). Conversely, the fewest Ukrainians who accessed this assistance were in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship in southeastern Poland, centered in Kielce - 17.4 thousand individuals (1.6%).
Social assistance for Ukrainian citizens in Poland is categorized into three types: a one-time cash benefit of 300 zlotys per person (about 2600 UAH), assistance in the form of food, and other payments.
"Social benefits from the state remain accessible to Ukrainian citizens in Poland. Payments continue monthly under the 500+ program for children. Additionally, there is the possibility to apply for assistance programs from international charitable funds and volunteer organizations," noted Maria Kuzenko, the head of the Migrant Support Fund in the Labor Market (EWL).
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance of Poland stated that Poland spent about 50 billion zlotys, or 2% of its GDP, on assistance to Ukraine. According to Polish experts' estimates, due to Ukrainian forced migrants, the country's GDP increased by at least one percentage point in 2022.
