This winter, the Ukrainian Armed Forces plan to attack command centers, ammunition depots and supply lines behind Russian occupiers with missiles.
According to the New York Times, the Ukrainian military wants to reduce the combat capability of the Russian Federation in this way. In particular, American ATACMS missiles give the Defense Forces the ability to strike enemy positions throughout occupied territory. In addition, every kilometer of advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the south creates new problems for the enemy.
At the same time, the material notes, Russia in 2023 has learned to adapt to combat operations much better than last year. The aggressor country may try to change supply routes or use its artillery and aviation to counter the shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to analyst Jack Wotling, if Russian troops are drawn into a wide front, and their logistics are severely disrupted, they could literally get wet and freeze.
"While targeted strikes can degrade their logistics, the limited training and field training of Russian troops can maximize critical disruption," he explained.
In turn, the Russian Federation will strike at the civilian energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
