The rescheduled match of the Ukrainian Premier League's 1st round took place on Wednesday, October 25th, with "Vorskla" hosting "Dnipro-1" at the "Vorskla" stadium in Poltava. It turned out to be a scintillating contest with five goals in total.
The action kicked off in the 5th minute when "Dnipro-1's" striker, Oleksandr Filipov, found the back of the net. "Vorskla" retaliated in the 40th minute as Ruslan Stepanyuk leveled the score, capitalizing on a pass from Ilya Krupskiy. However, just two minutes later, Oleksiy Hutsulyak scored the second goal for "Dnipro-1," putting them back in the lead.
The second half saw "Dnipro-1" extending their lead with a third goal, courtesy of Oleksiy Hutsulyak, who completed a brace by converting a pass from Oleksandr Pikhalyonok. In injury time, Ruslan Stepanyuk scored from the penalty spot, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide as "Dnipro-1" secured a 3-2 victory.
This victory propelled "Dnipro-1" to the 4th place in the Ukrainian Premier League standings with 21 points to their name. Meanwhile, "Vorskla" now sits in 9th place with 13 points.
In the upcoming round of the Ukrainian championship, "Dnipro-1" will face "Kryvbas," while "Vorskla" will take on "Metalist 1925."
