An accident occurred in Kyiv in which two pedestrians were injured. The driver of a Toyota Avensis lost control and drove off the roadway.
This was reported by the press service of the capital police. It is noted that the accident occurred on Bolshaya Vasylkivska Street. Law enforcement officers and doctors arrived at the scene of the incident.
“It has been previously established that the 27-year-old driver of a Toyota Avensis, moving along the roadway, lost control and drove onto the sidewalk. As a result, he hit two pedestrians who were standing at a public transport stop. The victims received varying degrees of bodily injury severity, now doctors are providing them with the necessary assistance,” the message says.
Law enforcement officers checked the driver for intoxication using a Drager device. He testified that the driver was sober.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – Violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles.
The police are establishing all the circumstances and mechanism of the accident. The driver was informed of suspicion of committing a criminal offense.
