Chinese astronauts, part of the "Shenzhou-16" mission, safely completed their journey in space, returning to Earth after an extended stay aboard the "Tiangong" space station. The landing capsule, named Shenzhou-16, separated from the orbital module approximately 50 minutes before landing. Its braking engines were activated to reduce its speed to a safe level for the crew inside.
Upon landing, a ground search and rescue team arrived at the landing site. Medical professionals examined the astronauts and confirmed their satisfactory health conditions. The astronauts were then transported to the nearby space center in Jiuquan, China.
The "Shenzhou-16" piloted space mission was launched by China on May 30th. This marked the fifth mission with a crew to China's "Tiangong" space station.
Throughout their 154-day stay in orbit, the astronauts conducted 70 space experiments, participated in a spacewalk, and held several online lectures from the space station for Chinese students on Earth.
