The IDF has achieved "significant" successes during the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, but it is "paying a heavy price" for it. This was stated by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as quoted by the Times of Israel.
"The fighting continues against the forces operating [in Gaza] and the results and achievements on the battlefield are very high. Unfortunately, there is also a price in war, and the price of the past day was high. Despite this, we are still determined to continue and win." ,” Gallant noted.
The IDF press service reported this evening that two Israeli soldiers were killed in battles in the Gaza Strip, and two more were injured.
IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari says fighting in the Gaza Strip is becoming more complex as troops operate deeper into Hamas-controlled territory.
“This is a difficult hand-to-hand battle. In the fierce battles that took place today, we lost fighters,” he said.
According to Hagari, two soldiers were killed during the assault on a Hamas stronghold in the city of Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip.
