In a significant development, H&M has officially confirmed its return to the Ukrainian market this November. The announcement was made by Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, who revealed that Ukrainian diplomats in Stockholm received the final confirmation that H&M stores, which were closed due to Russia's full-scale invasion, will resume operations in November this year. Talks with leading international brands about their return to Ukraine have been ongoing since May 2022.
Kuleba emphasized the continuous contact maintained with major brands like IKEA, H&M, and Inditex, citing the successful return of McDonald's to Ukraine as a notable achievement of diplomatic efforts and public campaigns.
While H&M has not disclosed which specific stores will be the first to reopen, the brand has assured that women's, men's, and children's clothing will be available in all the stores reopening. Additionally, H&M's sports clothing line, H&M Move, and home goods from H&M Home will be offered in select stores. The clothing that was in stock when the stores closed will also be part of the commercial offering, alongside the new collection.
According to the minister, the return of international companies strengthens Ukraine's economy and signals confidence in Ukraine's victory and the reliability of its partnerships.
