On Saturday, xAI, Elon Musk's AI startup, presented its inaugural artificial intelligence model to a chosen group of recipients. Musk himself described it as, "Tomorrow xAI will release its first AI for a select group. In some important respects, it's the best there is right now," in a social media post.
The xAI startup, which Musk announced in July, has set out to "comprehend the true nature of the universe," as stated on its official website.
In the spring, Musk reportedly received thousands of powerful graphics processors from Nvidia, essential for building a large language model similar to tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT or Google's Bard.
Musk shared insights into his plans for the new AI tool named "TruthGPT" in April during an interview on Fox News, expressing concerns that existing AI development companies may prioritize systems that are "politically correct."
According to Greg Yang, co-founder of xAI, the startup will delve into the "mathematics of deep learning," a key facet of AI, and develop a "theory of everything" for large neural networks to elevate AI to a new level.
The xAI team includes graduates from DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Twitter, and Tesla.
Elon Musk warns that if environmental activists program artificial intelligence (AI), it could lead to the extinction of humanity.
