The Ukrainian State Agency for Arts and Arts Education has invited authors and author collectives to compete for the Oles Honchar Literary Prize 2024. This renowned award is presented each year on April 3, the birthday of the famous writer Oles Honchar, in recognition of literary works that champion the ideals of humanism, the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people, and the concept of Ukrainian independence. The cash prize for the award amounts to 20,000 hryvnias, making it a coveted recognition in the literary world.

Eligible for the award are original literary works authored by individuals or author groups. These works must have been published in their final form within the last five years, but no later than six months before the submission for the prize. It is important to note that works that have already received other awards or state honors are not eligible for this competition.

Proposals for potential candidates can be submitted by literary associations, associations, literary groups, national enlightenment societies, editorial boards of periodicals, publishing houses, and literary public organizations. Individual authors are also welcome to apply.

The submission period for award applications is from November 1, 2023, to February 1, 2024. All documents for the Oles Honchar Literary Prize should be sent to the Ukrainian State Agency for Arts and Arts Education at 1 Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, Kyiv, 01001.
