Russian occupiers are preparing for the “third series of major assaults near Avdeevka” and the “third massive assault of Avdeevka.”

This is discussed in a new report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Analysts noted that the occupiers continued offensive operations near Avdiivka and achieved proven successes. Geolocation footage indicates that Russian troops advanced southwest from Krasnogorovka (4 km north of Avdeevka) to the railway line north of Avdeevka.

Fighting also continues near the Avdeevka coke plant and the southern and southwestern outskirts of Avdeevka and Opytny. At the same time, Ukrainian troops are constantly counterattacking in this area.

The Institute's report also indicated, citing a Ukrainian military observer, that Russian troops are quickly building fortifications in rear areas near the directions of the proposed offensive in the Avdievka area in order to quickly bring reserves into battle.

In addition, fighting continues in the Bakhmut area, but neither the Ukrainian Armed Forces nor the Russian occupiers have moved forward.

The Institute's report also indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled mechanized Russian assaults near Vugledar on November 2. Geolocation footage shows Ukrainian forces striking a column of Russian armored vehicles during the Russian assault on the eastern outskirts of Nikolskoye, 4 km southeast of Ugledar.
