Danish Support for Ukraine:
Danish government, along with businesses from the country, maintains a clear stance in supporting Ukraine's resilience against external threats. Denmark's contribution, totaling €7 million, will be allocated for the purchase of equipment essential for the restoration of energy infrastructure.
Immediate and Future Contributions:
Minister Ogor specified that Denmark would promptly transfer €4 million to Ukraine's Energy Support Fund, with an additional €3 million to follow later. This financial assistance underscores Denmark's dedication to assisting Ukraine during these challenging times.
Ukrainian Gratitude:
Minister Halushchenko expressed gratitude for Denmark's role as the first sponsor of the Fund, contributing approximately €536,000 earlier. These funds were directed towards acquiring energy equipment for ten Ukrainian energy companies. He acknowledged the vital role played by Ukrainian-Danish energy partnership during the conflict, facilitating urgent repairs and the development of decentralized energy generation.
Establishment of the Energy Support Fund:
The Energy Support Fund for Ukraine was established in spring 2022 through a joint initiative by Minister Halushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson. The fund provides a platform for governments, international financial organizations, and private donors to offer substantial support to Ukraine's energy sector.
