Representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko notes that enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups have focused on the Sumy region, and talks about countering them.
"The intensity when the enemy uses sabotage and reconnaissance groups remains. We especially see this in the Sumy direction. Previously, DRGs were also recorded in both the Chernihiv and Kharkov regions. But lately - exclusively in the Sumy direction. When the enemy sends its saboteurs to so that they take actions aimed at destroying, among other things, Ukrainian defenders - it continues,” Demchenko noted on the telethon,
He added that Ukrainian defenders understand this situation well and that the enemy will continue to try to use its DRGs.
“That’s why anti-sabotage reserves have been created. All Ukrainian defenders, all firing positions are well aware of the need to be vigilant in this direction,” the speaker said.
In addition, drones are also used to monitor border areas and border lines in order to expose DRGs in advance.
“As soon as they are exposed, the guys immediately open fire on them. There is also support from other, more powerful, means in order to clear the area where the sabotage and reconnaissance group is located. In the future, they retreat beyond the state border,” said Demchenko.
