According to reports from Politico, Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, is slated to visit Kyiv in the coming week. The purpose of the visit is to mark the 10th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity, a pivotal moment in Ukrainian history. The revolution kicked off on November 21, 2013, following the decision by then-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to reject the Association Agreement with the European Union.
Confirmation Pending While a representative of the European Council couldn't confirm the visit officially, it was mentioned that President Michel would be in Berlin at the beginning of the following week. This visit is strategically timed, just ahead of the European Council summit in mid-December. During the summit, EU leaders are set to deliberate on the European Commission's recommendation to initiate formal accession talks with Ukraine.
Continued EU Support On November 4, President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, visited Kyiv and held discussions with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Von der Leyen reassured Ukraine of the EU's unwavering support. This visit further underscores the EU's commitment to fostering diplomatic ties and cooperation with Ukraine.
