Austin in Ukraine: the Pentagon revealed details of the visit

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin intends to discuss providing Ukrainian troops for the winter and in the future against Russian threats during his visit to Kyiv on November 20. This was reported by the Pentagon press service.
It is noted that Austin will hold negotiations with senior Ukrainian leadership. He will reaffirm the United States' continued commitment to provide Ukraine with the security assistance needed to defend against Russian aggression, and will also discuss the strategic direction for the future development of Ukrainian military forces.
“Negotiations will be focused on further strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, including providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the necessary combat capabilities both for the winter period and to protect the country from future Russian threats,” the statement said.
The Pentagon also recalled that Secretary Austin will host the 17th virtual meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein) later this week.
