German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived on an unannounced visit to Kyiv early this morning.
It is now known that during the visit he will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov, as well as with the country’s President Vladimir Zelensky.
It is also known that politicians will lay flowers on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, where Euromaidan began 10 years ago.
The German minister will also visit the Ukrainian military training center.
As the German Ministry of Defense commented, the purpose of Pistorius’s trip to Ukraine is to confirm support. The main issues at the negotiations will be training of the Ukrainian military and military assistance to Kyiv.
Let us note that this is Pistorius’s second visit to Kyiv since he took office as Minister of Defense. Let us remind you that he took this position in January, and in February he already arrived in Ukraine.
In addition to the German minister, Moldovan President Maia Sandu also arrived in Kyiv this morning. Together with the Zelensky spouses, Sandu honored the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
